Fortress Logging Facility
SecurityThe next version of Fortress is getting ready for release. This version fixes the $subject error that some but not all sites have experienced when posting autonews. In addition, based off of our highly successful IPBans logging technology, Fortress will utilize the same to log all attacks to a CSV file.

Nuke Cops fortress.csv file is here, you can see some real attempts by folks, included those who kept their cookie while trying it, are logged. Continuing on, this next version of fortress from the IPBans technology will also ban the suspect IP addresses automagically.

We've logged more attempts than is currently shown as of this article, but they are in emails and not here. Too much work to get them in manually... So...

Fortress will also allow for you to pull our data and add the IPs to your own site lists for blocking. Stay tuned for releases.

not to pick nits..but...it seems like your ipban.txt file is the output from portsentry, and is probably fed to iptables to implement the ban. i haven't downloaded fortress (nor do i plan to, as i use portsentry/iptables on my servers), but i hope that if you are indeed basing fortress on your "IPBan technology" that you include a courtesy line to those two free programs as the basis for it.

on a side note:
ZX: with the 10's of thousands of ip's on your list...your network I/O is bogged down if that list is maintained permanently. i have a perl script that will check the list every X days/hours/etc (programmable via cron) and remove entries whose packet counts haven't changed since the last check. if interested, PM me.
