Despite all the tips above, I am not sure about what to do to solve my problem. Crying or Very sad I am an amateur webmaster. Pls forgive me if I sound silly.
This is my URL: www.wenhui.ch. Here is my installed version:
Quote:

Powered by phpBB 2.0.10 © 2001-2003 phpBB Group
phpBB port v2.0.7 based on Tom Nitzschner's phpbb2.0.6 upgraded to phpBB 2.0.7 standalone was developed and tested by:
ChatServ, mikem, and Paul Laudanski (aka Zhen-Xjell).

Version 2.0.7 by Nuke Cops ?2004 http://www.nukecops.com

I will get the following error message when trying to access Forum admin page:
Quote:

phpBB : 重大错误 ("major error" in Chinese)
Could not open subSilver template config file
DEBUG MODE
Line : 353
File : /home/www/a19681cb40e9cccbf716f537e7798dce/web/includes/functions.php

I opened the file functions.php
Quote:

$template_path = 'templates/' ;
$template_name = $row['template_name'] ;

Line 352 $template = new Template($phpbb_root_path . $template_path . $template_name);
Line 353
Line 354 if ( $template )
{

Pls note that line 353 is blank.

I also tried as recommended by Xyberian to clear nuke-session table in phpMyadmin, but instead of "clear" command, I only find "empty", "drop". I did not venture to use either command for fear of messing things up.

Xyberian wrote:
Ok. I remembered what I did.
phpnuke new versions might have different session manager.
So, first of all, check include/session.php.
Then, if you find session.php files are different between versions,
open your nuke DB by phpmyadmin.
Clear nuke_session table. THIS DOES NOT MEAN 'DELETING THE TABLE.
login as an admin and try it.

I also added a field session_admin as recommended below, to no avail.
Maka wrote:
Add this code and hit go:
ALTER TABLE `YOUR-PREFIX_bbsessions` ADD COLUMN `session_admin` tinyint(2) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL

I would be grateful if someone can tell me exactly what I should do to solve the problem. Embarassed

That tells me you are missing the subSilver.cfg file from your subSilver template

After renaming the file name and folders to"subSilver", I was able to access Foum Admin page. However, my joy was shortlive.
I looked through the forum admin page and changed GZIP setting from "No" to "Yes" for no reason. Then my forums are not accessible. Any link I clicked inside the forum admin page would present a dialogue box for file download.

File name: index.html
from: www.wenhui.ch

And I am kept our of the Forum admin page. The link for Forum Admin page (http://www.wenhui.ch/modules/Forums/admin/index.php) will present the same file download dialogue box instead of Forum Admin page. The forums are gone, too. I used a backup of the forums made on 24 May and ftped them to the website, to no avail.

What has gone wrong? Pls help.

Do not enable GZip compression - go to your _bbconfig table and disable it

The forums are back after I changed the gzip setting to "0" in nuke_config table. Many thanks.

Since gzip setting ("0" by default) is so delicate, it should not be there for peole to play around with in forum admin page. Or at least there has to be a warning next to it.

I wish I had not seen the gzip option in my forum admin page.

Setting Errors to 1 doesn't show anything, still gets a perfectly blank page...

I did run the scripts, I also manually checked the DB to ensure the changes had been made...

The left hand frame of my forum admin page just stopped working last week (it is blank). I had not done anything to my nuke install.

I'm using nuke 7.2 patched. I had not installed anything new. Just one day it did not work. Again, I just can't see the menu on the left where you create new forums and manage groups.

Also, at the same time this started happening, when i click the backup database in my admin page I get the error:

Quote:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@myworldofwarcraft.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Anyone got any ideas what could be going on?

I looked at that before, but it doesn't exactly describe my problem so I didn't try it. Everyone can see the forums on my site.

I could try it anyway if you think that will bring the forum admin section back.

Gzip is off on my site (or it was the last time I was able to get into the admin section of forums to check)

All else I can suggest is replacing the pagestart.php with an older version of the file

I beleive this may be a pagestart.php problem. In modules/Forums/admin/pagestart.php find:
Code:
if (!defined('IN_PHPBB'))
{
        die("Hacking attempt");
}

define('IN_ADMIN', true);

and after add:
Code:
define('FORUM_ADMIN', true);

I think that the bbtonuke2.0.12 upgrade assumes that chatservs 2.9 patches are installed and the patches include the line I told you to add.

Just for the record - this method worked for PHP Nuke Plat 7.6 updated to PNC2.1 I'll post it at techgfx
