Software: Restoring large databases...
SoftwareQ writes "Have you ever tried to restore your DB only to find out you need to break it into chunks? Well, my DB has grown to about 70Meg and to load it on my test server I had to break it into 3Meg chunks!! It was taking 1-2 hours to get it uploaded so I decided to look for a better way. That is when I discovered "BigDump" on hotscripts...this sweet little script uploads a DB in 3000 line chunks and only takes 3-5 Min on my 70Meg DB. So if you have ever been frustrated uploading your DB then I highly recommend you click HERE to get BigDump.

**Note: I have nothing to do with this script other than being a very happy user!!!"

Software: PHP v4.3.2 Warning For Windows Platform Users
SoftwareRaven writes "PHP version 4.3.2, which is about to be released, has made some changes in the low level file handling process. As a result, there is a major change for Windows platform users. Any code that you have that uses the fopen('file','w'); call MUST BE CHANGED to fopen('file','wb'); or the file will be totally messed up. You should check ALL of the code you presently use that uses any PHP function call to open a file with 'w' and change it now to 'wb'. Then test your application to see if it still operates correctly. Assuming so, then you will not have any issues when v4.3.2 is released. You've been warned :)"
