Swish CMS Goes Live

What started out as a bet between friends has now become reality.

A few months back when my host emailed stating that I would have to drop my PHP-Nuke portal due to their new AUP and TOS against nuke portals (Hostnuke.com), I was blown away. Months of work down the drain!

Some may remember me scrambling to get CPG-Nuke up and running (which oddly enough wasn't against my hosts AUP) and posting around the nuke crowd about the situation. The night that happened, my friends and I were drowning our sorrows in some cold beers and one of them said I should code my own portal using Swish or Flash with PHP. Now we all knew Ego7 was already a viable portal platform and also used Flash as a base but none of us could scrape up the $14,000 dollars it costs to play with it. A few bet I could do it and a few bet I couldn't. At the time, I was more concerned with my beer getting warm. 3 months later (and a very warm beer), I've dropped my CPG-Nuke portal and now my website is controlled by my attempt to win a few bets. SWISH CMS is now up and running with enough of a core in place that it can handle my users and traffic. CPG-Nuke will run in the background but not accept users so I can use it for testing things I make for CPG and PHP-Nuke. The news will syndicate just like other portals for those wishing to follow the build progress or submit news items. CPG-Nuke and PHP-Nuke portals are treated like sisters and all users of those systems will always be supported and welcome by mine. I love the nuke crowd and always will. I won't go into all the details and will instead invite anyone interested to stop by and give her a try! In the meantime I have a few bets to collect ;) http://www.upstatetemplates.com
