I personally want to see IPB, there is already a hack to use it on nuke, but to make it more seamless integration would be good. |

PHPBB is a FANTASTIC forum system with great development behind it. I havent heard anyone on the Nuke Cops forum complain about the forums.
It has taken forever to work out all of the bugs and glitchs from porting phpbb to nuke. It is not worth it to create a new forum.
IF this was to happen it should not be released to the public after INTENSE testing.
Nuke Cops has done a great job porting phpbb to nuke and has done well on porting the updates and so on. |

removing PHPBB is a huge mistake, But FB does not listen to the comunity anyways..

i.e. PHPBB, Splatt, Invision etc etc.
PostNuke uses this method. PHPNuke being dependant on one module, to run successfully, not a good idea. |

The only problem is, Invision Power Services don't allow the forum to be freely distributed, FB would have to get permission from them. I couldn't get it although I'm sure hw would have better luck. But seeing as he said they are making their own forum, I doubt it would be included. |

yes, that option that post-nuke is indeed an advantage towards phpnuke.
I tried the release candidate (v6) from vbulletin 3, it has a veery nice wysiwyg-editor, its one of the best I've ever seen... |

What I would really like to see is a complete appropriation of phpBB and complete integration into Nuke, even if it means separate development roads after that.
My 2 cents. |

Re: Forum Future for PHP-Nuke (Score: 1) by Esen on Friday, March 05 @ 21:42:34 CET (User Info | Send a Message) | phpBB seems to be the best choice for PHP-Nuke's default forum.
Further more, phpBB itself seems to be extended to a CMS (Content Management System) like PHP-Nuke does.
If PHP-Nuke can't integrate phpBB into his kernel properly, maybe the subject of this survey will become 'CMS PHP-Nuke's future for the phpBB' in the future ? |

I'm sticking with 6.9 and Phpbb....
It works, and does the job, although integrated sub forums would be nice ;)

But phpBB does not have all the features i know yourself and most site admins want. Since i switched from vbulletin to phpnuke (got tired of the yearly cost to run vbulletin) the biggest complaint my users have is not being able to attach images to posts. Being we are a gaming clan, we take alot of screenshots of our games. Hense the image attachment. But i beleive the guys over at phpBB could do this they just haven't. Add the other options these other forums have and file uploads to your software, and i think you would get a 100% vote to keep phpBB in it. |

The phpbb avatar management, the member list, the user info info page and especially the private messages modules phpbb brought to nuke are a lot better then the ones integrated in the nuke package. |

It's very powerful and the (free) support is better and friendlier than almost everywhere else I've seen. I like the very powerful features. PHPBB is excellent but power users would appreciate the way Ikonboard takes customizability and control a step further. Many security-aware administrators also say that Ikonboard is the only board that meets their security requirements.
I also host a personal site and like the option within the boards, to have forums for my friends and family to upload files *within the board*.
Ikonboard will soon support PHP. I understand that Invision Power Board is already PHP and is very similar to Ikonboard, but I haven't used that one yet and I'm not sure how their support is.

Unless u can reproduce their mods and produce even better mods than theirs, any move to "go it alone" would be php-suicide !
Why not port a fully-modded version of phpBB - that ought to keep people busy for a while ;-)
