I have an external link to my forum on the page, but I want it to open in a new browser window. I know the html code for this (target="_blank") , but not sure how to do it in php.

I have edited my modules/forums/index.php to look like this:

Quote:

<?php
Header("Refresh: 0; url=http://www.mysite.com/forum/");
?>

The forum opens just fine with this, but I want it to open in its own window. I am sure there is a very simple way to do it, can someone please help me !!

I'm not quite sure what it is you want to do... but usually when you want to call a document/page into a new window you just use the target="_blank" method with the anchor tag, as you've said...
In php it would be:
Code:

<?php
echo "<a href=\"yourlink.com/something.php\" target=\"_blank\">Text</a>";
?>

If you're looking for something that will open ITSELF in a new window open being entered, you need to check out some Javascript tutorials on frames...

Thanks for reply, but I was more thinking of how to rewrite this code:

Quote:

<?php
Header("Refresh: 0; url=http://www.mysite.com/forum/");
?>

...so that it opens in a new browser window.

Im a newbie in PHP, but Im sure it shouldnt be too troublesome.

Hello,

If I'm not mistaken you can add this code:
Code:
<?php
Header("Refresh: 0; url=http://www.mysite.com/forum/");
?>
somewhere in the overall header file in the forum directory or the same code without the <? & ?> part. You can also add a javascript to header.php file that redirect people to http://www.mysite.com/forum wherever a certain link is clicked.
