I've added a banner and an advertiser but they aren't showing up - is it because my theme doesn't have banners code in it? it's the iCGstation theme..

yes. if your phpnuek 7.8/ 7.9, banner module is no of use. Adversitins module replaced it and you are supposed to change theme-pack to show up banners: adv(0), adv(1), adv(2), etc.

What version are you using?

You need the following code in your theme

for phpNuke 7.7 and lower
Code:

include("banners.php");

for phpNuke 7.8 and higher
Code:

echo ads(0);

It depends on where you want it in your theme

You'd put it in the themefooter() function in theme.php

You'd have to put it after the center blocks call in header.php

I've been having the same trouble, I can't quite get my head around this new system.

The solutions above work fine for when you are dealing with themes such as Deep Blue, where most of the code is inside theme.php.

However, if you try to use a theme such as iCGstation where you have separate header/footer/blocks left etc what is the correct code to use? As you know previously you could just enter $showbanners wherever you needed to, can we do something similar now?

You'd have to define $showbanners in your theme.php first, before using it in the .html

Code:

$showbanners = ads(0);
