On the forums within my site, I have noticed that the quoting feature doesn't seem to work. Where it says something along the lines of "Username said: blah blah blah" it only has this:

Code:
[quote="User"]Text of post here[/quote]

Any ideas on how to make it work right? I don't have any other errors, not even in the conntest or analyze scripts. I'm running PHPNuke 7.0.

I've narrowed it down to it more than likely being on line 837 in Posting.php of in the main forums folder. Here's where I'm talking about:

Code:
                if ( $mode == 'quote' )
                {
                        $orig_word = array();
                        $replacement_word = array();
                        obtain_word_list($orig_word, $replace_word);

                        $msg_date =  create_date($board_config['default_dateformat'], $postrow['post_time'], $board_config['board_timezone']);

                        // Use trim to get rid of spaces placed there by MS-SQL 2000
                        $quote_username = ( trim($post_info['post_username']) != '' ) ? $post_info['post_username'] : $post_info['username'];
                        $message = '[quote]' . $message . '[/quote]';

                        if ( !empty($orig_word) )
                        {
                                $subject = ( !empty($subject) ) ? preg_replace($orig_word, $replace_word, $subject) : '';
                                $message = ( !empty($message) ) ? preg_replace($orig_word, $replace_word, $message) : '';
                        }

                        if ( !preg_match('/^Re:/', $subject) && strlen($subject) > 0 )
                        {
                                $subject = 'Re: ' . $subject;
                        }

                        $mode = 'reply';
                }
                else
                {
                        $username = ( $post_info['user_id'] == ANONYMOUS && !empty($post_info['post_username']) ) ? $post_info['post_username'] : '';
                }

Line 837 is this:
Code:
$message = '[quote="' . $quote_username . '"]' . $message . '[/quote]';

If I remove all of that stuff in the first quote bracket, it works fine. However I want it to have something like "User" wrote... or even better like in VBulliten Forums, "Originally Posted By User". Any ideas on how to make either way work?

I've also got a user on my site saying that the PM's he's receiving are blank. Any thoughts on this?

What's your BB2Nuke version?
In BB2Nuke 2.0.20 and 2.0.20np, there is a deficit one.

The bbcode.php file and functions_post.php file must be properply fixed because new BB2Nuke 2.0.20 includes a new rss-based randomization.

Post your BB2Nuke version which you installed.

I just discovered the same issue and had the same problem on another site but correct it. Now I just can't seems to recall how I fixed it. I am not running Ravennuke76 and the 2.0.20.

Shed some more light on what do you mean please.

Thanks
