Hi, I've been running phpnuke for a while now on our WoW guild homepage, and I have a small question that would make my life a bit easier Very Happy
Because of the nature of the site, we want to keep some parts of it available only to guild members (e.g. some parts of the forums). To do this, we have different usergroups with different rights, which works very well. Now, we also use user ranks, and change them accordingly (when you sign up you are just a Forum Member, if you are a member of the guild you are Guild Member, there are also Guild Officer etc.). The problem is (at least I haven't found any solution) is that you have to change the rank for each user separately unless you want it to stay as the default one (as the rank isn't triggered by post count). This gets annoying when sometimes ex-members are still marked as guild members and some new members are still marked as normal forum members due to the admins being a bit slow changing the ranks.

So, in short: is there a way to automatically change the user ranks of users depending on in what group they are (e.g. users in the group Guild Members would automatically get their rank changed to Guild Member, and when you remove someone from that group their rank is changed back to the default one). I would also like custom ranks to overwrite this behavior, so that you can give someone a custom rank that won't change even if that user is moved from one group to another.

EDIT: I didn't think this was worth its own topic, so I'll just ask it here... how do I find out what version of phpnuke I'm running?

This hack seems to be what you're going for

- You can get the phpNuke version number by using phpMyAdmin. Just browse the config table

Sorry, that's not what I was looking for.

(At least according to the description) that hack changes the user's group based on his post count, but I want something else: the user's rank changed based on what group the user is in. Thanks Smile

Sorry I really can't find anything else. You may want to ask on the phpBB boards
