SUPREME HEADQUARTERS
ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force! You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world. Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.
But this is the year of 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!
I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!
Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

They are old men now. They know to the end of their lives is approaching with gods speed
What they did individually 60 years ago this morning on Frances beaches
along it's hedgrows, in its skies is of litle consiquence. On D-Day individuals did not count , they were among the more than 150,000 soldiers who stormed out on to the shores on June 6th 1944, more than 30,000 Airborne 150, 000 soldiers sole aim was that coastline. In the preceding Darkness Angels fell from the sky not God's Angels. They were the sole of the pre attack.. Over 6000 ships and 12,000 pllanes left every port and field we could hide , bury and float.. While families Slept angels silently dropped to earth to start the largest assault that was even thought of, So daring that if failed so was the war.. A crap shoot, all or nothing..
So planes lifted off from airfields of mud, roads and how ever we needed to get them up was thought of. The Armada of 6000 ships , by fasr the largest Aramada any One will ever see . While in the air 12,000 planes holding mere children thrown into man hood... Men Who Risked life to save a fallen Brother .. the selflessness men showed was something to been. The shear thought of steeping off a beach runner knowing when that , ramp falls your in a world of hurt.
There is a army high on cliffs loooking down at you and you have 2 options run like hell or Die there on piece of land that may be your grave..
History Calls them HEROES. not so they say The real Heroes are the ones that did not come home. The men who lived it say they are no heroes just survivors. So today when you see a man who looks Proud and sad take the time to shake his hand , cause he gave his life so you could have this one....
So i say thanx to the heroes and those who were not
Thanx for this life because i get to see my own kids grow up
