(User Info | Send a Message) | Aaah, Brazil is not a race. That country is actually comprised of different races with blacks and mulattos making up about half the population. Since allevon didn't single out any race, he's not being a racist.
Personally, I don't think anyone should stereotype an entire country because of having bad experiences with some of their people. His and many others' bitterness is understandable because they have not had a good experience with any Brazilian yet. For many, their whole exposure is one of being constantly attacked. Does this make the entire country bad? Of course not.
If there is any Brazilians using Nuke, I think they should come out and say "Hey, I'm Brazilian and proud of it. These jerks represent a tiny percentage of my country." Until some good people make their presence known, the stereotype will continue on. I lived in other countries for many years. When people bad mouthed the USA after running into a few American jerks, I had no problems saying "yeah, those guys are real jerks but the USA has a ton of good people whose ancestors came not only from your country but every other country in the world. Often we cannot control our jerks when they visit here, but that doesn't make our entire country bad."
For me, I don't discriminate. I ban all bad guys no matter where they are located and entire nets if need be. I've got portions of the U.S., South America, Asia, etc all blocked out. I know I'm blocking out good people but until countries start controlling jerks in their own borders, that's the way it's going to be. I'm not going to spend a lot of time fighting off attacks. They can eat 403 pages instead. |
