WWIVNet to Atlanta and BOOM. Exploded overnight. It went from 2400 to 9600 to 19200. Those were truly the good ole days.
And all on a phone line. Sigh.
Red Dragon. Tradewars. It never got any better than that.

The sample was 1 mb and it took almost 6 hours if I remember correctly. I couldn't wait to see the best graphics of any game out there.
I also seem to remember when bulletin boards were the only way for getting those "bad" pictures a teenager always wanted. |

I downloaded Patches and other stuff from these systems, everything in ASCII or posted in the Bulletin Board... Nobody did talk about Internet that time, but there where already Multiplayer Games on those BBS'es... It was Golden Age, NO VIRUSES, NO DESTROYING, ONLY CREATION and no DESTRUCTION... |

I can also remember DLing Doom and it took me about 7hrs. We used to do those things before heading off to bed and getting up in the morning to see if it had finished or not. Most times it just timed out and we had to start again. lol
