I have been working a project idea for my RPG site for a few months and my tests are nearing their completion.

However I have hit a major roadblock.

I need to create new type of admin, a limited admin if you will, that can be assigned from The Admin Panel, under user management (where you assign either user or admin)

I want this new type of admin to only have access to specific $modules in the phpbb Admin Panel

I have two admin areas which are identical to the areas normal admins can access up uploaded to forums/admin/ on my server

They are assigned to the admin panel as follows in their code:

$module['Assassins']['User_Shops'] = $file;
and
$module['Assassins']['Post_Count'] = $filename;

So long story short, I need to learn how to create a new level of admin. Somehwere inbetween the user and admin options, that will enable this limited admin to see and use the pages listed under "Assassins" but no where else.

Any help, tutorials, or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to see if there's a phpBB mod to do this - http://www.phpbb.com

I have looked, and there is none.

I came up with another solution.

However it also needs a little work and I am at a loss. I have uploaded a mirror of my forum admin in a separate directory from my main install. I have included the core files to allow access to the admin panel in this new directory.

I want to replace authentication by user_level with password protection on the directory. I need to figure out where to remove the authentication check on this new directory so that all users could theoreticly access it, tho only those with the propoer password will be authenticated by the server.

So bottom line, where in forums/admin is the check for user level that will let user_level = 3 in? I am aware of the line in common.php, however altering this value has not provided any change in result.

Furthermore on this install I cannot adminster the board from it either, and my user_level=2

Code:
$forum_admin = "2";
if ( !defined('IN_PHPBB') )
{
   die("Hacking attempt");
}
$root_path = "./../../../";
error_reporting  (E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE); // This will NOT report uninitialized variables
set_magic_quotes_runtime(0); // Disable magic_quotes_runtime

Any further help appreciated.
