Hey all, just wanted to find out if anyone in the bbtonuke community has considered porting a Youtube video mod or a Google Video mod for bbtonuke.
I found a phpbb mod for Youtube here, but I wouldn't have the the knowledge to port this to bbtonuke. It seems to work pretty cool see here.
Any ideas ppl? |

Just to show you I got it working
Now I guess you want to know how I did it? Well first thing to note is that this mod works with bbtonuke just as it comes. No special port is needed. Go get http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/catdb.php?mode=download&id=821728 Multi-BBC mod for phpbb. Follow the instructions but note that as well as making the indicated mods to modules/Forums/templates/subSilver/xxx.tpl you must also make the same mods to themes/yourtheme/forums/xxx.tpl
Then follow the instructions in the youtube mod with the same proviso for template files as above..
One further note, some files to mod are in includes/
others are in modules/Forums/
others are in themes/yourtheme/forums |

This was installed on straightforward PHP-Nuke 7.8 with no patches and no bbtonuke upgrades so is with bbtonuke2.0.15 but it will probably be OK with any bbtonuke version. |

"modules/Forums/templates/subSilver/xxx.tpl you must also make the same mods to themes/yourtheme/forums/xxx.tpl"
I dont have a "themes/yourtheme/forums/xxx.tpl"?
I only have style and images folders inside the themes folder.
i am trying to get the Google video and You Tube mods to work. They work fine on a standard phpbb instal but am having probs with nukebb.
you can get You tube working without this by enabling param, object and embed tags in the nukebb / phpbb allowable html in the admin but google video doesnt seem to work with this method for some reason. |

I can't find the file privmsg.php anywhere, does leaving that part unedited affect the mod? |

The equivalent file in Nuke is modules/Private_Messages/index.php. So make the edits for privmsg.php in there. |

I suppose this thread is a bit old, but does this mod make it possible for people to add youtube videos to their signatures? Furthermore, if they can add it to their signatures, is there a way to disallow it?
Thanks.
Edit: I see it does allow for one to add videos to their signatures....this scares me. Is there any way for me to block this (short of disabling people's signatures? )
Edit - found a mod that does it fine:

Well don't bother trying to find one if it's not there. You only need to change the themes/etc. tpl files if the forums folder exists. If not, just change the modules/etc. ones. If a theme does not have a forums folder, it will use subSilver. |

I have been trying to get YouTube videos to embed in posts for a few days now and have had NO luck.
I just get the link with the youtube tags around it.
phpnuke 8.1, BBtoNuke 2.0.21
One thing I notice is that I do NOT have the /includes/bbcode.php file in my system. I copied it there from a parallel installation and my forums stopped displaying. . . .took me forever to figure that one out.
Sorry forthe cross link (if not cool here) but I followed the instructions found here: YouTube info
I plan to upgrade BBtoNuke to the current 2.0.23 load (pre my admin panel).
Any ideas where to start troubleshooting this?
www.lasvegasvwclub.com is the site.
Thanks!

Successful upgrade to 2.023 and no luck on YouTube embeds.
I have also added the HTML tags to the config.php file as well as on the allowable tags within the forums admin panel. (these were both done prior to my post here) |
