My website was created back in 2004 and it's running a big database with many users and topics. However, I realized that it was time for an upgrade from the 7.4 version of phpnuke I was running - in fact, way overdue.
So i went through the steps, and upgraded from 7.4-7.5 etc all the way up to 8.0 which I'm at now.
However, I am experiencing a few problems. Mainly, and the utmost important - I cannot gain access to my admin panel. I'm logged in as an admin, but when i click Administration, I get a white page with "Access Denied".
I've read through different topics here, but have not found the solution. I also found a patched 7.6 phpnuke version - but since I've upgraded to 8.0, I'm not sure that it's wise to install that now?
Can someone please help me and explain which files to edit, and to what? I'm not a php expert, so be gentle
Also - it seems as if phpnuke no longer accepts html in my articles. All my formatting (tables, pictures etc) have disappeared.
And my right hand side modules no longer show up either.
Nor are quotes working in my forum.
Any thoughts on these issues? But the main problem right now, is getting access to my admin panel.
Thanks in advance.
PS. If this is fixed in the phpnuke 8.1 version - then let me know, cause then I'll buy that

Your best bet is to install PHP-Nuke 8.1 as it is the current version and of course fixes flaws. Your going to then want to patch that.
If you want it all in 1 package, I found a site that has it all in 1 shot. Just upload this fresh copy and run the update files and you should be good to go.
The above is the patched 8.1 with all the fixes included.
Please also, keep a full backup when ever your doing updates so you can roll back and re apply it if something is broken.

If you just copied over new files into an existing site, it probably left many files which are deprecated. I would suggest really starting with a clean package, adding only the addins and changes you know you need (custom modules, themes, etc)
