Hello.

Our church is re-doing their website and I'm pushing for a phpnuke for it's obvious benefits but I'm getting some slack for not going the traditional all HTML site.

I am coming up with a test phpnuke site and the HTML person is coming up with her test site and we'll compare.

What I'm not worried about is which one will win (hehe) but how secure is phpnuke?

For example, why does this site have the numeric key posted to login?

Is there anything else I should be concerned about (outside of OS security).

I have 6.8, and yes I paid the $10 to get it. Smile

thanks

If I didn't believe in it, I would be putting money, time, and love into it. Its why I run over three websites using it.

Provided you keep tabs on patches, alerts etc. PhPNuke is VERY secure. Why will Nuke win vs/ html? Foirst off, no more hard coding. its a pleasure to just type the article and NOT have to create a whole page for it. second, the interface is actually faster even though it incorporates html WITHIN it. So hands down, the way to present it to your benefactors is its progression of technology utlizing the basics, which is Html. So you want a 1925 Model T or a 2003 Porsche? The choice is obvious. Best of luck and welcome to the Nuke community.

My angel will focus on:

1) ease of administration.
2) ease of adding content by any idiot. Smile
3) the gobs of stuff already out there that just snaps-in.

#2 will be the most stressed upon.

The other person wants everyone to have a copy of Dreamweaver, teach them how to use it, etc.

yeah, right!
Smile

I'm sure that someone will ask about security so I wanted to check with you guys.

thanks!
