which nuke version???

If 6.5 beta 6 / 7, then there's a module called Profile. The fix for which is in the downloads section.

If enabled by the administrator of the site, then the upload avatar is in there.

you have to be logged in to use it.

The avatar upload option is in the forums administration -> General Configuration screen

Does the avatar change save if you don't try to change the password?

If you all are talking about Nuke6.5 beta7, the avatar upload and link to offsite avatar options are not included in the Edit profile for your user.
FB incorporated most of the functions from the Forums edit profile into the Your Account Change Info(Edit Profile).
There is no more upload or link to offsite avatar option.
You can enable it all day long in Forum's Admin, but it will never show up when you go to edit your profile.
The link to your Profile in the Forums in 6.5 beta7 links to the Edit profile in Your Account.

It's the old way in beta6

So what FB did in beta7 was create a Profile module for users to edit their Good 'ole Forum profile where they will find the option to upload or link to an offsite avatar Smile
In order to let your users get to that link, you have to enable the Profile Module in Nuke's Admin/Modules so that it shows on your main menu for registered users.

I for one don't really like the idea of 2 edit profile areas again for the users. If somehow we could get all of the Forum profile options into the Your Accoutn edit profile, I beleive it would be much more simple for users. I find it confuses some users(my senior citizen Mom Smile )
