I have a phpnuke 6.5 site and the database is about 2.5 MBs.

Since I upgraded the forums to 2.0.6 via 2.0.5, the database backup facility in both phpnuke admin and forum admin has not worked. The admin backup just stops immediately and shows 0b downloaded. The forum admin downloads the backup script and then stops.

Now, I don't know if the forum upgrade is the cause of the problem and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

(I assume nuke and phpbb backups can handle 2.5 Mb databases?)

Thanks,
Ron..

Double checked with CS on this, but the scripts haven't changed. It just might be that the timeout values aren't long enough.

No, I am not using IPOWER.

The strange thing is, as I mentioned in a report to Zhen-Xjell, that I have a 6.8 site on the same server as my 6.5 site. Both had their forums upgraded to 2.0.6 within an hour or two of each other. The admin and forum admin backups are working fine on the 6.8 site.

I contacted my host and he said no server changes have been made.

It's a real mystery.

The 6.5 site where the backups aren't working is 2.8 MBs

and the 6.8 site where they do work is 1.5 MBs.

I'll check it out. In the interim, can you open this as its own bug report?

Thanks Ron.

Hi Snake13,

I am glad you posted that. Another clue in the puzzle.

I just kept trying the nuke admin > db backup and it worked on the 11th go. Then when that was finished I tried again and it worked on the 5th go.

However, I don't know if that points to a server problem because the db backup on my other phpnuke site on the same server works every time.

(I haven't tried the phpbb admin backup yet.)

Ron....

Yup I can't seem to get my database backup to work as well. Part of the error goes like:

th>General Error</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="row1" width="100%" align="center">Failed in get_table_def (show fields)<br /><br /><b><u>DEBUG MODE</u></b><br /><br />SQL Error : 1146 Table 'femalefactor206.auth_access' doesn't exist<br />
