Three phpNuke sites, all 6.8 and each has the same forum problem when admin clicks on "forum" and the problem is:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not query database for theme info

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 3

I've uploaded the patch for bbtonuke and the error is still there. Now what?

Thanks for quick response.

New install, one is phpcentral.org and you can look. Haven't got past the admin stage with the forum. Putting up some themes for people to try but not much more yet. Have not yet gotten the test downloads.

Downloaded and ran analyze. Says mysql is ok. So's everything else according to the run. Downloaded the latest cv Forum and replaced the Forum with that. No change. Still getting the same error.

Nope.
Still getting this error message when trying to start forums from admin.

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not query database for theme info

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 3

Finally have tried searching for the SQL syntax error but no luck. Any help?

Ok, no help on the forum problem on this forum so have switched to Splatt forum. Didn't install any easier but have found a way to make Splatt work (4.2 version I think). Looks pretty good and inspite of the fact the install didn't work, could't get the english version and I had to take the install program apart, cut out a bunch of it, find the variables it needed and, instead of having it search them out, force it to take the ones I gave it, finding the mysql and putting it up manually and then finding the mysql that the install program was supposed to load in, cutting that out, rewriting it and manually loading also, the Splatt Forum works with at least 95 percent of the features up and going. I think there are some that aren't but maybe all (100 percent) is up and going. You can find it at homeherbalgardening.com if interested.

If anyone else is having this problem, I've found some of the problem. I seem to have gotten a corrupted version of mysql or it corrupted in transmission somewhere. I took out (dropped) all the mysql connected with the bulletin board and loaded it in again from a separate download (most recent cvs which may not have been a good idea). All the sites I've loaded from the downloaded phpNuke are having the same problem. The download comes from near the end of August and is 6.8 stable.

Now, of course, after all the messing around with the files in the ppb section, I have the buddy list problem (and about 10 others I've fixed). At least I confined my messing to only one domain. Looks like I may have to download a new version and completely renew the site. Well, It's only about 20 hours of work lost and maybe I'll still do Splatt Forum. It's up on homeherbalgardening.com if you want to see it but it didn't work "out of the box" either.

Well, of all the phpNuke work so far (and I started with 5.2 I think), the forum is the biggest problem and still is. I was so bad I put my sites up with phpwebsite but a recent comparison has brought me back to phpNuke. Still the buggy forum but now there are many more people working on it and I expect great things so will stay and fight through.
