([a-zA-Z0-9+&.]*) worked out of the box.
([[:print:]]*) caused various problems like dead links and no .html added to URLs, so I stuck to Bill's fix.

Thank you guyes for all the postings here. They helped me to solve my problems too, include dot(.) in url. I tried hard to escape dot with "\", and did not work. Thanks to your postingsl now I can escape it with "&".

I just noticed that this fix has not been implementet in the bundle yet, so I filed a bug report. It's not a big thing, but it still causes invalid links in the FAQ module.
