Hi there,
Right now im runing a 6.0 php-nuke site with bbtonuke 2.0.6 (or 5 not 100% sure). I would like to upgrade to somthing new, like the 6.5nc bundle, or just normal 6.5. I tryed doing an upgrade in the past but ran into sql problems. My problem is I do not have shell access to the server runing my site and im forced to manualy add and edit my sql tables via mysqladmin. The update scripte that comes with 6.5 will not work for me. Do you guys have any advice as to what the best way to upgrade is? Or know of any guides to doing this with mysqladmin? Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks |

1-Make a backup of the database tables and all files
2-Using your current config.php as a guide configure the new config.php's settings, PHP-Nuke 6.5's config.php has a new variable: $sitekey, it is recommended that you change at least some of the letters/numbers in it to make it unique.
3-Upload all files and folders included in Nuke's html folder so that they replace your current files.
4-Upload nukebbsql.php to Nuke's main directory (where config.php is) and point your browser to it. Delete it once done. |

It's easier from 6.5 but the nukesql.php file included with it has options to upgrade from both, if you decide to try from 6.0 omit the nukebbsql step and use the bundle's nukesql.php file, do make a full backup of files and database tables before doing anything. |

I checked again and i think you'll have to upgrade to Nuke 6.5 first. |

Upload its files then run nukesql.php, you will see an option for upgrading from 6.5 to the bundle. Again make a backup before doing anything. |

How would an upgrade from 6.0 with splatt 4.2 to 6.9 with phpbb be affected?
Also, what about the blocks and themes, how do these react?
I have large site that needs upgrading and I am abit intimidated
to try. Thanks for above info and thanks in advance
for any guidance!

Is it possible to upgrade from Nuke 6.0 with toms port, to nuke 6.5 using only the database from the 6.0 nukebb site ???
Cause I have access to 2 servers. So I want to try to upgrade on the 2nd server to work out bugs, etc...
Or do I need to overwrite the files to make thing work correctly? |

Ok i just followed the instructions and was greatly relieved to find that my site did upgrade to 6.5. Nice thanks for those easy instructions to follow.
Do have one problem thou, that i am hoping somebody can help me fix.
When i click on forums now it comes up with this error :-
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not query config information
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1146 Table 'eraser_nuke9.nuke_bbconfig' doesn't exist
SELECT * FROM nuke_bbconfig
Line : 225
File : /home/eraser/public_html/nukeupgrade/modules/Forums/common.php
Obviously I have no idea what this is so would really appreciate some info on how to fix this problem.
Thanks all
