To be fair, it is basically what attracts you as an end-user. I haven't used it, nor Admin Secure, but I have used Protector. In theory with everything being equal, the only thing that bothers me is Sentinel's use of pop-ups. Heaven forbid some grandmother or little girl uses an owned computer that sends them to a Sentinel protected site which causes extreme pop-ups and crashes their system.
That really IMHO isn't morally the right thing to do against a suspected attacker.
What really needs to be done is to contact the authorities. |

Well, since that setting is optional and is off by default, seems like kind of a non-issue. Gee, how often do you debate the trash talk and actions of your staff member - Allevon? Heaven forbid? Morally right? Oh good night! Who are you trying to kid, Paul? You are so lame with this feeble attempt of appearing "righteous". |

So being that its an "option" automatically removes any moral issues from the authors? It makes no difference who wrote the application, it might as well be Protector or Admin Secure. I'd still have the same moral complaint.
And please, act like an adult for once and show some self-respect. |

I believe that should fall under ethics and not morals. Allevon's attacks and use of the english language on this site would fall under the morally wrong category. |

The java and flash run locally and only when an attack is detected and then only if you have that option enabled, ie., you want to fight back.
If a "little girl" or "grandmother" attacked my site and was hit with popups in return then I say though to them, eye for an eye and all that.
BTW, I'm so sick of attacks that I'm gonna fight back harder than just pop-ups, I'm a change things a bit in Sentinel's code (when I get the time, always short on that) to do much worse and again I say tough s*** to anyone that attacks my site and gets f***** in return, they deserve it IMO. |

Hey Step, show me proof where I stole code? Remember, its your friends that use GoogleTap to power their sites. If you can't put up, shut up. |

Now that is wrong, if they are distributing GoogleTap and altering the credits to claim they scripted it they should desist on the spot, it's one thing to use programs released by others but to claim you authored it does not count with my endorsement. I use a variant of it myself (NexGen or something along those lines) but i don't offer any version of the concept, we have more than enough already with GT, Googlifier and the mentioned one by AudioSlave. |

LOL. I was making a distinction between an ethical issue and a moral issue. |

This certainly doesn't look like the comments of someone who is confused.
Please show me where in any code I have released that something was stolen? If I used someone's code, I gave them full credit as I did for:
MySQL-Tap
Analyzer
Please, feel free to look at the rest of my contributions either alone or as a team effort:
phpbb port (not recently)
analyzer
mysql-tap
fortress
admin tap
union tap code
googletap
top
columbia
journal
navtap
scrolling forums block
site visitors
backendforums
rss 1.0 news feed
betaNC phpnuke build
referer xss patches
Shall I continue? You did mention somewhere else on site that I don't have a lengthly list of products... so I thought I'd help you through your confusion by listing some of them. |
