Does anyone want to know an opinion that comes from someone with a legal background? Well OK, I will give you all my two cents anyway:
1. The fact that Sentinel™ has a pop-up/PC-killer facility (on/off switchable, with default to off) is a fact, and whether you want to download and use the tool and/or this portion, is up to you.
2. The fact that some of Sentinel™ functionality is reported as being Malware is a false positive - this as we all know, happens frequently and does not mean this product should be labelled as such. We know it comes from a well-known and trusted source, so this is a non-issue. A little paranoia doesnt hurt anyone, so jumping the gun at first is allowed - but we are all clever people, we read, absorbe the material and understand that this really is a non-issue, so no need to go on and inform the world (what constitues your world, in any case) about how malicious this program is. See, you are allowed to do anything you want on your own home-ground (ie publish your views here and/or on CC), but crossing borders may be labelled as counter-productive, petty, and libelous/slander. The fact that one already jumps the gun as much seems to me to have missed the point, and shouldnt go on like a loose cannon - this only results in non-stop bikkering like we have seen here recently.
3. If you decide to use the PC-killer facility: Let's face it, Sentinel™ is not the only tool these days that has counter-attack measures built in these days, and the groupies around these (commercial) tools (check out Symbiot for example) dont make half as much noise around it as here. As for the disclaimer(s), well, we all know these are standard disclaimers, these are even put on nuclear devices - but we all know that if Sentinel even has the ability to damage a PC (debatable), it has done so 99.9% of the time because the 'damaged' has done something to trigger this functionality on the 'offender's side. The remaining percentage that is victimised (collateral damage) is always welcome to take the 'offender' to court, despite the standard disclaimers. I assure you, it will not make it to court and if it does, we will be all home before lunch as it will be thrown out of court - they have more important things to worry about such as rape, fraud and murder, etc.
4. We wonder why when obvious talent is wasted on non-issues like this, hackers get the upper-hand. Opportunism watches and wins, at a time we should be combining our efforts - I personally like the idea of one-combo-product-does all, a la Sentinel + Fortress + Protector + AdminSecure + ..., but damned if I will use it or loose sleep about it if it is going to result in nothing but a kindergarden fight. I think we should take one step back, evaluate the situation and relax a bit... before it gets out of hand.

Anthony.
