it doesn't seem like google is following the articlex.html links. Like article1.html

What can I do to get that to work? For example: I am searching in google for certain terms that I know are in article1. I get the google search result: I get whatever words were in the title of the article, and the link either goes to index.php (where the title of the article is under the "old topics" block), or top.html, because that article is in the top (most reads). But no google search results give the link to the whole article: .../article1.html

It just seems like google is not going in to the articles or the forums. Can anyone help?

Here is my link.

I see Zhen telling people whether or not one's website is googles or not. How can I find out exactly what got spidered and what not?

Thank you in advance

Well, you're right...you only have seven pages in the index:

How long have you had GT applied? I know mine took a while to get listed.

But currently (as I'm typing this) there are 14 googlebots crawling me right now. And the link posted above had me at 497 entries for my site.

Not too bad. Wink

snake, i guess about a month. But if google has come, I don't why it didn't go through my articles...

maybe patience is the answer, but if anyone thinks that there is a problem, please let me know.

I looked at the robots.txt file to make sure that the news module wasn't disallowed... all seems ok

Thank you

Man, yours is way different than mine.

You still have "modules.php?name=blah blah" instead of gate.html.

This link here: ("Show all stories" at the bottom of the archive page)

http://www.goaltalk.com/archive.html&sa=show_all

..doesn't do ANYTHING. It just refreshes the page it's on. It should show ALL the news you ever posted on the site. (mine changes to allarticles.html)

I'm using an older version of Google Tap. I just keep modifying that instead of downloading the new version.

Maybe the new version got real skimpy in what they re-write? Chat? Raven? Zhen?

My index.php gets re-wrote to index.html also.

Geez, I'll stick to my old version of Google Tap.

snake, my archive seems to work. you get articles by month when going to archive.html, just like nukecops website.

i think you're using googlifier. It's been a while since I read about it, but I remembet opting for google tap because it's supported by the nukecops staff.

And theirs don't work for me either! Try it:

http://nukecops.com/archive.html&sa=show_all

Do you get a big long page of entries? I don't.

You said your site has only been up a month. That's not very long at all. The links look spiderable. Did Google grab the other pages?

If not, then give it another few weeks. In the meantime, I recommend you go out and get some incoming links. This will encourage the bot to come back regularly and crawl deeper into your site.

If Googlebot did grab your other pages, I think he may have dropped them because they looked like dupes. Your articles are very small. Looking at your article pages, there's only like a 10-15% difference in content across them. When there's little variance the bot will often drop pages which appear to be very similar. I recommend you write longer articles at least until you can attract more people who will make comments which will aid in making the pages' content different.

You guys are missing my point. Look again:

Quote:
This link here: ("Show all stories" at the bottom of the archive page)

http://www.goaltalk.com/archive.html&sa=show_all

..doesn't do ANYTHING. It just refreshes the page it's on. It should show ALL the news you ever posted on the site. (mine changes to allarticles.html)

Go to the main archive page. Click the link at the bottom that says "Show ALL Stories". Yours and this site goes to this URL:

http://nukecops.com/archive.html&sa=show_all

This does nothing for me. It just refreshes the main archive page showing the different months. Mine takes you to a page called "allarticles.html" which lists ALL the stories that were ever posted on the site.

This was all I was getting at. I know the main archive page works fine. Does for me too. But click the link at the bottom.
