I notice that the Solaris theme is now in the gallery. I don't see it available in the theme packs or in the downloads. It this theme available anywhere?
Thanks. |

Any educated guesses on when it will be released? I'm building a new site and I'd very much like to do that on a somewhat altered version of the SO coool Solaris theme.

Yeah it's on the "trail"server, but not on the real gallery where you can download it |

oh it's on the TEST SITE. OK...
Yeah I thru it up there the other day to test it out.
It has one GREAT big drawback.
it ONLY looks good on screens as large or larger than 1024x768.
The header is so big, that there is nothing to do about it.
As long as no one gripes about it, I'll go ahead and release it. I just don't like releasing things like that. Anyone running 800x600 will not be pleased with it's looks. Just ask chuck. I sent it to him to take a look at it and he agrees that it really breaks the sides of the screen on lower resolutions. |

Isn't it an idea to create it as a so called fixed width theme? that way you could simply resize the images. Just a thought.
Anyway, I must be one of many that is anticipating this theme like you can't believe! You have thrilled our senses like a dose of Herione, we want more
Ok, so I make bad comparisons........ |

Fixed widths in my opinion suck. But for users running lower resolutions, fixed widths are a must.
However, in lieu of that, this theme is not favorable to a fixed width. The problem is the header image is so big. It breaks it all to crap. Have you looked at it over on my testsite yet to see? http://www.areamike.com
Once I release it you will se. Also, this theme was not completed by me. It was in fact done by disgruntledtech. I don't take credit for other people's work |

You mean the phpbb version of Solaris? Well I know you're converting it In my honoust humble opinion, correct me if I am wrong, wouldn't a simple resize do the trick? I assume you're quite capable of working with graphics, ie. creation/editting, so I am probably thinking in too simple terms. If not, I'd gladly offer my services. |

I was able to download it from the author's site but alas it was not compatible. I came here and found this thread afterwards, and am glad I'm not at fault for making it not work. Is there an approximate date to expect this to be released? I'm working on a Doom III site that this theme would work perfect for. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts!
Warm regards,

Hey mikem,
Think you know already but I don't like coming here, but for this thread I'd like to make an exception
Didn't know you were planning to release this theme (I knew coldblooded was working on it but he never released it) so I made my own port of it and I finished it yesterday, you can see it on http://mighty.portedmods.com and it seems to fit the screen with every resolution equal or lower then 1024 x 768
only the header doesn't resize.
Maybe we can work together as I have fixed some probs you are dealing with. If I don't hear from you, I'll release the theme like I have it now
Mighty_Y
PS My theme as adjusted that the right blocks are always on, this way you get a nice layout inline with the header (only on 1024 x 768) |

I'd say go ahead and release your Mighty.
Yours definately fits better. Actually disgruntledtech did the Solaris theme a long time ago, I just have been trying to clean it up a little as far as the width is concerned. But I haven't had enough time to mess with it. |
