Is my site fast enough?

I don't think it's slow but maybe for dailup users it's slow as both sites use a lot of images.

Is there a way to cache images? So that the thing loads faster?

you should consider the Cache Lite Admin Module

Gives you the possibility to cache your blocks from the admin menu. Easy to install.
I use it on 2 of my sites and it reduced loading time from an average of 2.5sec to a 0.45sec.
