There is a really great, well-thought out tool for creating a short-url, Google friendly site-map.

You can see it in operation here:

NoDNC.com Site Map

The problem is that it doesn't translate correctly for PHP-Nuke / Platinum. It may have to do wtih the new Admin functionality in 7.6, or the new enhancements for PNP...

Either way, if this can be made to work, it seems to be the simplest solution for search engine tapping a site... There is only ONE file, and you can link to it in your Footer Preferences to give the bots deep indexing capabilities!

The Project Site is here:

SiteMapper Project Home

HELP!!!

I prefer the one that was available from http://portedmods.com Looks as though you will have to look around/search that site to find the code. I used the code from them and modded it a bit to be compatable with the GT'd site I run. The one from waraxe has some advanced features and looks good as well. And google has come out with a new feature for its search engine and crawlers called Google Site Maps

My Hosting Provider, GoDaddy.com does not allow the use of mod_rewrite...

Are there any other short URL options out there?

You can use php to make shorter url's as well but it is much more complicated than mod_rewrite. Try these sites for some info;

http://www.tutorio.com/tutorial/php-alternative-to-mod-rewrite-for-se-friendly-urls

http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum88/4346.htm

This site talks about replacing the ? in the url with a / - very interesting http://www.searchengineforums.com/apps/webmaster.forums/action::thread/thread::1093290113/forum::php/

Search google: http://www.google.ca/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-05,GGLD:en&q=mod%5Frewrite+alternative+php

Goodluck!
