Ok here's my problem, and i did search this site for some answers, but failed to find any, or maybe i just didn't enter terms properly myself, anyway....

im working with 7.6, i believe it's patched, anyway when there is a new post, posted, many of my members will either read a post and go back to the main page and the other non-read posts do not show up with the new post icon, or they stay as new post icons even after being read, clicking on mark all forums read, does not work either.

I have the forums in the "home" dunno if this is part of the problem or what, but it doesn't seem to work properly, i remwember this happening with a few other older sets of forums but i do not remember if there is a fix, or if i fixed it at all, any help? anyone?

Thanks.

Sadly I'm getting the same problem. Could it be that i have my cookie domain setting as www.aoagaming.com while most of the time i search from http://aoagaming.com -- ? I have the same problem and really want it to get fixed. If you could help that'd be great

Thanks.

If you set it to aoagaming.com - it should work for both aoagaming.com and www.aoagaming.com

I got the new posts issue to work 100% like a charm by changing to

Domain: aoagaming.com
Name: (blank)
Cookie Path:: /

EXCEPT the logout link doesnt work as stated here.

Quote:
I cannot seem to log out. When I click on Log Out in the Forums page, I am taken to a page that says "You are logged out" then about 5 seconds later, I am redirected to the Forums main page and I see in the nav bar "Log out [myusername]"
in http://www.nukecops.com/postp201038.html#201038

I read on nuke fixes my problem and a fix (which you wrote Evaders), except it's for nuke patched and I have regular nuke installed.

Quote:
To fix logout problem when using a different theme from the default
FILE: mainfile.php
Change:

Code:
 global $user, $userinfo, $Default_Theme, $name;
    if (isset($ThemeSelSave)) return $ThemeSelSave;
    if(is_user($user) && ($name != "Your_Account" || $op != "logout")) {

to:

Code:
global $user, $userinfo, $Default_Theme, $name, $op;
    if(is_user($user) && ($name != "Your_Account" || $op != "logout")) {
       if (isset($ThemeSelSave)) return $ThemeSelSave;

I would like to know if there a setting to change this in regular nuke. Thanks....Rookie.

Actually that fix isn't for the forums.

There is no fix for the forums logout, it is not meant to work in phpNuke because it does not kill the phpNuke cookies. My advice is to remove the Logout in the forums from your template

It'd probably be in your template's overall_header.tpl

Actually I got it completely fixed. Technocrat's code did indeed work. To make it work, go to modules/Your_Account/index.php and

Find:
Code:
//$db->sql_query("DELETE FROM ".$prefix."_bbsessions WHERE session_user_id='$r_uid'");
// $db->sql_query("OPTIMIZE TABLE ".$prefix."_bbsessions");

Change to:
Code:
$db->sql_query("DELETE FROM ".$prefix."_bbsessions WHERE session_user_id='$r_uid'");
        $db->sql_query("OPTIMIZE TABLE ".$prefix."_bbsessions");
        global $board_config;
      $cookiename = $board_config['cookie_name'];
      $cookiepath = $board_config['cookie_path'];
      $cookiedomain = $board_config['cookie_domain'];
      $cookiesecure = $board_config['cookie_secure'];
      $current_time = time();
        setcookie($cookiename . '_data', '', $current_time - 31536000, $cookiepath, $cookiedomain, $cookiesecure);
      setcookie($cookiename . '_sid', '', $current_time - 31536000, $cookiepath, $cookiedomain, $cookiesecure);

Make sure your cookie fields are not blank, and are in the format

Cookie Domain: yoursite.com
Cookie Name: yoursite
Cookie Path: /

Works like a charm. I owe it all to Technocrat.
