1) is there a BASIC version of nuke? one that excludes encyclopedia, links, downloads, ect... basically excludes everything except what nuke needs to function?
2) Is it there anyway to use the vBulliten forum system with nuke rather than phpBB?

....thought someone would jump in here, so I guess I will answer:
1. no
2. Many, many things can be done when programming with php.
2a. Right now phpbb is tightly integrated into Nuke. Just take a look in the includes directory and you will see just how many files are there based on phpbb but needed by Nuke. Dropping those files and methods and integrating another bulletin board system is not easy, but it can be done.

vBulletin is not open source, so you will face copyright issues if you try to integrate nuke and vBulletin. Others have had the same idea, but vBulletin's developers would probably cry foul.
hmmmmm...... Are you sure there would be a copyright issue?
What I am trying to say is, if I purchased vBulletin, then I should be able to integrate it however I wish for my own use. And I would think that is the key..... "for my own use".
If I were to integrate and then offer it up for others to use, there would be an issue.
I am not sure the source code police would be out an about if any files were modified for the owner's own use..... but I have been wrong before.

it can be done, i managed it before on few sites but you will have to make alot of wrappers for the users part.
and second if you want to release something like this, only thing you can do is provide code changes, but i could be wrong here. as i not sure on the licence how it works becuase i dont use it anymore becuase i now use my own forum solution
