I do not want to use the "Put in home" feature in the modules section. Instead I want to hardcode it into the module I am working with; I rem see'ing this online here some where... but now I can't find it.

Goal: to place a module onto the main page of the site and have control over where it is placed as well.

Anyone have a clue here??

PS: Why is this site so dead lately?? It used to have 20+ members with 300+ guests online everytime I visited, with 50+ new msgs daily. Now I'm hard pressed to see 5 new msgs a day with maybe 2 members online. What gives??

You can hack index.php to set which module to load, notable the $main_module variable.

That's not what controls the display though. The theme files control where things are set, whether blocks are set left or right of the modules data and any header/footer information.

I don't see the point really to change the "Put in Home" functionality. It's not if the home module changes a lot.. and if it does, you'd be doing even more work changing the hard-coded files all the time Smile

------------

The site activity has slowed down, mainly due to the lack of updates of content and lack of innovation on the part of phpNuke's creator, FB. New versions are buggy and still not secure. Community is divided what to do.. projects like RavenNuke and Nuke Evolution are the only things keeping it alive in some form.

I want to work on a new Nuke community site, if people are interested. Not gotten the encouragement yet to do it this year... but I plan on working on things next year.
