I have some members of my site that have said that if they have NIS running, they cannot view the site. If they disable it, they can view it with no problems. While I am not really worried about those who now know to turn off NIS when viewing my site, I am worried about the new person who is viewing the site and is not able to, because they do not realize they have to turn NIS off.
Is there anything I can do to avoid this from happening? If anyone has any info or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

These problems usually occur when paranoid people set their security programs (such as anti-virus & firewall) settings WAY TOO HIGH!! Often, harmless websites (business/personal) tend to run the same dynamic & interactive content that other sites use for treachery.
Your users may need to start lowering some of their firewall, anti-virus, and/or parental control settings (some of the programs that come with Norton Internet Security) until they CAN view your website!! I mean, get to know the program better, not just assume that N.I.S. knows exactly the correct settings to surf the internet flawlessly right out of the box.
#1 rule your users need to follow is, "R.T.F.M." (Read The Friendly Manual) of their Norton Internet Security documentation/manuals (the docs maybe online only) that came with the program or they can learn it the hard way by playing with the settings. Also, this would be a perfect time for them to get their money's worth by aquainting themselves with Symantec's tech support reps.
