Hi,

using 7.6

In the Forums, we have usergroups... there, we can add members and eventually, these members can be given access to certain forums that are not accessible for everyone.

Now, I have a CALENDAR Module where people can register to join a trip. I would like to allow access to this Module ONLY to a certain usergroup which I have created which is called "MEMBERS".

Thanks..

P.S. I looked into the NSN Groups hack but it is quite complicated. I would rather have one command in the Calendar Module that would check whether a user is part of the MEMBERS USERGROUP and allow him access accordingly.

A simple work around might be to only list the calandar link in the forum that only those users can access! Make a sticky thread with a graphic button which the special users have to click on to get the calandar link. If you get infiltration just change the location / link. Let members know not to bookmark it as it is a dynamic link.

good idea...

But I thought that it would be simple to just put in a small piece of codee only in the Calendar Module that would check if the member is part of the "MEMBERS" Usergroup...

Can't it be that simple? The NSN usergroups is very complicated to install not to mention I really am not sure if I have the prerequisite patch number!
