It's been a few weeks now that nukeweather has ceased to function.
Sites allover the net running this mod now display "NukeWeather™ is not available." or the N/A images.
I've looked at the php and it's pulling from msnbc
Yet if you browse to that manually you will find this function has been retired.
So, is there any other site we can pull weather from? weathernetwork.com ? can someone smarter than me fix this line of code?
Cheers! |

Have you tried asking over at www.nukescripts.net ? I think they are the author of this (might have been ported) and would probably know whats going on more so than anyone . I have found a bunch of sites that are still working great with the nukeweather , however, my guess would be that they have changed their feed link . |

Yes, nukescripts.net does not have a forum (that I could find) so I could not post the open question.
However I have submitted 2 requests to the webmaster for help. Can you provide me a link to a site that is working so that I might be able to view their code?
thanks! |

I should add this
| Quote: |
With the recent increase in email I have recieved about the NSN Weather module no longer working I feel that this notice should be placed on the site yet again.
PUBLIC NOTICE: NukeScripts Network no longer publishes nor supports the NSN Weather module, this has been the case since late 2002. We stopped it's developement after being contacted by MSNBC and being notified that our module was in copyright infringement of their copyrighted material.
Futher more anyone still using the NSN Weather module, after we made the first public notice, is in the same copyright infringement as the module was in before and can be traced by MSNBC. Modifing the NSN Weather module to work with the changes MSNBC has made makes the users legally liable for copyright infringement.
NukeScripts Network is not responsible for any issues that you incur from continued use of the NSN Weather module. |
It appears if people are still using that module, they are in copyright infringement . That said, I think it would be best to find another source for such code and or module . |

I wasn't aware of that either so don't feel bad . I'll look around and see if I can find something , if not , this might make a nice weekend project if I have time . |

Sorry for the delay here . I did make one a few weeks back here for someone , however, they bought it and the code so it is theirs . Unless they are willing to release it , which I doubt it , then it's back to searching . I know there are others out there as I have seen some .
Edit I should add that the user is on this board everyday and I am sure he will see this so maybe he'll reply . |

The author, Bob Marion, has announced that he is working on an updated module that uses weather.com, which is licensed. Nothing specific on a release date. You can find details here. |

I used hamweather.com solution for a website several years ago and it is still working. They pull the information from the National Weather Service here in the US and the servers they use do not infringe on copyrights anywhere. I don't remember the links to the NWS that they use, but they have several plugin graphics available that would probably work in a block easily. They also provide weather for locations around the world.
The program has been around for at least 8 years now as that is when I discovered it. I don't have time to create a module around it (or probably the skillset), but if someone wants to take on the task it would be a great addition. |
