I have changed absolutely nothing on my site and now new users do not seem to get their registration email. This is weird cause I can test the feedback/contact button on the site and the mail sends to my admin account fine. Also if I'm logged in as a regular user and I choose to receive notification after I post a new thread I receive those emails fine as well.
It seems that only new users do not get the registration email.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Site is www.customobsessions.com/index.php
Thanks

Sometimes such e-mails can be treated as spam and found in the spam folder. |

It is 100% not a spam issue. I personally have created test accounts myself to test this issue and the email does not get sent, it's not in any spam or junk folders. I also have the "resend_email" module on the site so I can see when new users sign up. Al of the new users are sitting their waiting to get the email... if I click on resend email it still doesn't work.
Any other suggestions? |

Well I thought I'd follow up with this post as I usually try and post the resolution when I can as this sites helped me a lot over the years.
First off I'm very surprised that many others aren't experiencing this issue. In fact I think many are but just haven't realized it yet cause all the other email functions are working. I know anyone hosting their site with hostmonster.com and I believe bluehost.com would definitely be seeing this same issue.
The issue is described above, all email functions worked on the site except new activation/registration emails were not being sent.
Resolution:
The hosting company (in my case hostmonster.com) recently put a new spam filtering system in place and all outgoing mail with the subject line "New User Account Activation" was identified as spam.
I changed the lang-english.php file located in modules/Your_Account/
language and I found the text that says 'New User Account Activation' and changed it to 'Thanks for joining YOURWEBSITEHERE'
Since making this change I've tested setting up accounts and have recieved all activation/registration emails successfully, I've also had multiple new users sign up since I've implemented the change.
I have to give a huge thanks to a new friend at www.minimal-wave.org who's helped me with this issue and who worked closely with her hosting company to come to the bottom of it. Thanks V. |

I use hostmonster as well and have been having the exact same problem. I will be doing exactly what you said you did and see if mine works out correctly. |

I was on the phone with those jackasses for several hours and they didn't tell me about the spam crap.
How did you find that out?
Thank you so much! |
