Here's the story,

I created my site march of 2003. Haven't really updated Nuke since then. I'm using nuke6.9 My site got hacked a couple of months ago, but I was able to delete all the garbage that was posted via my hacked admin.

I'm now realizing that when people hit my site they cannot gain new membership. Not good!

Also, I want to upgrade the site to the newest version but I haven't done this well over a year and I sort of forget the process.

Lastly, are there any better photo gallery programs that are compatible these days with nuke.

my site is www.thelightroom.org

thanks

I ws able to register as a new user on your site just fine. I didn't confirm the e-mail, though, so don't look for me there. Smile What problems were you experiencing with new users?

I use Menalto's Gallery, but I just installed it so I cannot comment on how robust it is. However, I heard good things about, so I though I'd give it a go. Coppermine is another good gallery mod, one with some security issues that the latest version has fixed, apparently.

Upgrading involves backing your db and the existing site. Copy the new files to replace the old ones, run the sql query through the db to update the tables, and cross your fingers. I have heard some upgrades go well, others not, depending on how many mods and add-ons are involved. Themes can be a problem, too, since may not be compatible with the new scripts.

Check the topic, Upgrading, for details and further assistance.

Thanks for checking my site out. I think the problem lies in the e-mail confirmation. You joined my site up you were not updated to the system. Or maybe it's a user block error. When I tired joining my site again the link from the e-mail to my site didn't connect...thus no verifcation

hmmm.

thanks for the updating information

Well, the system won't update me if I don't reply to the confirmation e-mail. I'll be in the nuke_users_temp table for 24 hours, though. If you want me to confirm just to check things out, let me know.
