I am currently using this script to have notification of new topics on my forum sent to members who choose to subscribe via email. Issue being it is also notifying members of post put in 'private hidden' forums. For obvious reason I don't want this to be the case. Is there any other way around this yet keeping the facility to inform members of new posts in the public forums? pushing my luck here maybe, but is there anyway members of the 'private hidden' forums can be notified of new posts, yet the public forum members don't.

you need to make an sql query and a php if statement depanding on the users privileges.
So whenever you make a public topic it is send to either all users.
And whenever make a private topic just sended to subscribers of your hidden forum.

But ofcourse you understood that already.

I have searched the internet high and low and can't seem to find the answer to my question.... someone please help me with this.

In essence I need something similar to the 'Notify me when a reply is posted' but only member can choose to subscribe to particular forum.

I am using the devil nuke hack and for all intents and purposes works well. however it sends subscribers notification of new topics in 'private forums' which is not good!
