Is there a proper way of removing built-in nuke modules? I'd like to remove the Downloads and Webmail modules. I have no need for them, and prefer not to have them on my site to reduce the security risk.

Thanks
eric

Just deactivate them. There is no security risk.

Or, when you remove them from the directory, nuke automatically knows that and removes them from the tables.

I have some modules that I want to get rid of too. I downloaded some for testing etc, but now I am happy with what we have and would like to free up the space. SO I can just delete them ... and thats ok?

What about the modules that use SQL? Is that a problem ... and can i delete the SQL somehow? Confused

Thx

If the modules use their own tables, i.e., don't modify the core nuke tables, then use phpMyAdmin and DROP the tables. As to the files, first deactivate the nodules and then delete the files from your directory.
